The Rainbow Rolls Down the Sky in acrylic on canvas by the author
with grandchildren Mackie 4 and Marchus 2, September 11, 2016

Wonder if the rainbow were circles rolling down the sky,
each color a wheel, a balloon, a ball;
Wonder if the rainbow is made into cones of ice cream,
each cone a color, a kind of flavor;
Wonder if the rainbow melts into dewdrops at sunrise,
each dewdrop a color of each season;
Wonder if the rainbow  were gems gleaming on my palm
each a precious stone to be mine;
Wonder if the rainbow is no longer an arch in the sky,
 its hidden treasure forever gone. ~
