Two Faces of Innocence

Dr Abe V Rotor

 The strange world of a child (Mark, 2 years old)

Capped by a shell big enough to hide -
what could he be thinking if all alone?
To revisit the womb or find shelter
from a world he feels not his own?

And seeing this little clown we laugh at
his antics taken for innocence;
innocence, ignorance the same to us
and dismiss it for no consequence.

Wait 'til he finds the world hard to win,
that we ignored to fully explain;
sans a shell for comfort he accepts
innocence and ignorance the same. ~
