Variants - result of cross pollination, in nature or by man
Red or yellow today, and tomorrow
Trait, where does it begin, where does it lead to?
a blend of the two in various patterns and hue;
Chimaera's image in offspring anew.
Wonder how the bee or butterfly choose colors
when they are blind to colors of man;
wonder Mendel's genius to predict the young,
traits passed on, traits mysteriously gone.
Wonder the eons of time, vastness of evolution,
each life a roulette of genes interacting;
straying from the Creator's intelligent design,
yet orchid is orchid, notwithstanding.
In the gene pool each species, each variant,
partakes in building for the future
where survival is the game, collectively or none;
passing each cycle the test of Nature. ~
