Researched and Interpreted by Dr Abe V Rotor
Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of penicillin, was once touring the United States and while on his way to breakfast in New York's Biltmore Hotel was stopped by two reporters who inquired of him: "Tell us Dr. Fleming, what does a famous scientist think about at this time of the morning?"
Solemnly, Dr. Fleming replied: "I'm very glad you asked me that question because as a matter of fact I was thinking about something very special at the moment."
Eagerly the reporters poised their pencils.
"I was considering," said Fleming, "whether I ought to have one fried egg or two for breakfast."
* Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin in 1928 at St. Mary's Hospital, London, This discovery led to the introduction of antibiotics that greatly reduced the number of deaths from infection.Acknowledgement: Speaker's Encyclopedia of Humor, Jacob M. Braude; Internet photo
