My Best Photographs Series: Animals, Tame and Wild II

My Best Photographs Series
Animals, Tame and Wild II
Dr Abe V Rotor
Gagambang Hari, Lagro QC

The kingdom of this spider
- a web hanging in the air,
to snare the unwary prey
- or to birds, itself the prey.

Anna wears a butterfly, Bohol

Take the backseat jewelry,
how costly you may be;
priceless indeed is to wear
Nature's living luxury.

Orangutan in a zoo, Rizal

Friendly primate, its roots unknown,
forgotten to oblivion,
save in the wild and the zoo,
and some undiscovered zone.

Two of a kind pets, Brisbane

Submission to the larger
kind, a Darwinian theory,
even within the same breed,
is basic biology.

B&W ducks on parade, Living with Nature Center

Quack, quack, quack, one-two three,
keep pace with their company.
Ducks of the same feathers
flock together, is true story.

Owl in captivity, La Union Botanical Garden

Owl - longingly sad and lo!
Freedom is just a step or two
and be with its kind again.
Oh, what can we do, brethren!

Black cat by a waterfall mural, Living with Nature Center

Complete the scene, break the spell,
that bad luck and emptiness
are but creation of the mind.
You're a sentinel of goodness.
