Relics - imprimatur of holiness, venerated by the faithful;

 fossils - museums' treasures, science's glory;

Wouldn't the remains of a once magnificent tree sacred, too, 

to stand sentry of a forest lost in our memory?

Made of driftwood mounted on coral rock, red base symbolic of 
fatal destruction of our environment and its consequences.
 On display at the Living  with  Nature Center, San Vicente Ilocos Sur. ~
