Nature unites Heaven and Earth
Wall Mural by Dr Abe V Rotor*
San Vicente, Ilocos Sur
A flock of doves in the sky playful and free,
sans cares and worries, and full of glory;
when we’re at ease with others in harmony,
though the sky is dark and gloomy.
“How far is the church from this wall mural?”
I stand at the gate separating the two.One a scene of Nature on a once empty wall,
The other, an old, old church - what a queer duo!
The essence of art conquers the ugly and bane;
Garbage pile, open urinal, fire stock – they are gone.
where art reigns in every nook violated, forgotten.
Dare to pose by a garbage pile.
Home of flies and vermin.
Not anymore.
Art has transformed the scene.
Broken glass atop a fence to ward off any intruder;
A lovely scene hides it away for the ardent viewer.
Young trees draw the birds to come
and build their nest in their crown;
together grow as inseparable one -
in synergy all of us are bound.
but from the blue sky and beyond,
riding on a light stream down,
bringing all creation to a bond.
White is whiter against the blue sky,
reason the doves of peace are seen
far and wide to the naked eye,
glowing, pure and clean.
What draw people together to a scene
but commonality to beauty;
what drives them away and apart
but lack of love and sympathy.
A pose and a smile make a living mirror
of beauty and order from the core;
there is no monotony in Nature;
we hear the waves of the sea,
the breeze in the trees, birds
singing, and in the language
of silence - every day. ~
