Painting Nature in situ and imagination

 Painting Nature in situ and imagination

"Keep your feet on the ground,
    and let your thoughts move around." avr

Paintings and Verses by Dr Abe V Rotor *

A snorkel or simply through a glass aquarium;
an artist  needs, or may not at all;
for his mind can go deeper than the sea is deep,
or gather all the fish in a school.

The sun, the source of all creation,
reflection of the world before -
Eden before the Fall, pristine and full,
when man needed nothing more.

Can fish  fly, and birds swim?
Imagination is more powerful
than reason, or any equation;
keep your feet on the ground,
    and let your thoughts move around.

It has been there in a corner,
unfinished, forgotten;
this painting, like the flower,
needs love, sun and water.

Under a microscope to see this specimen,
 whatever is the viewer's aim;
network of mycelia or nerve ganglion,
their pattern is one and same.

Remains of decay, life after death,
to the ultimate unseen kingdom;
compounds to molecules to atom,
and back to living things again,
 in cycles at another place and time,
ad infinitum to final doom. ~
