Requiem to Manta
It's murder cold as steel, but who would say
but the magistrate, and the fool?
food for the fisherman and his cohorts,
their children going to school.
It's murder that got away from many eyes,
one day, next time, 'til there's none
to kill, and lo! to the culprits now robbed
of living for what they've done.
And the sea becomes still in emptiness:
where have the Chondrichthyes gone,
their allies that make the web of living,
the children going to school? ~
