This article is dedicated to a botanist, teacher and researcher, a leader in the scientific field, above all, a true friend - the late Professor Eduardo de Leon of the University of Santo Tomas.

The late UST Professor Ed de Leon is dwarfed by a giant Palawan gabi, reminiscent of the novel, Gulliver in Lilliput.
